I only knit for me. I don't knit for babies, or other people who aren't knitters. They will not get it, and it will end in tears.
I must knit with some European acrylic yarns, like Phildar. The British yarns aren't really so gunho on the acrylic so much. Or, it's always acrylic with cotton instead of acrylic with wool. Acrylic with wool is a good idea.
I agree with you on stashing. I'm not doing anything more until I have two jumpers (sweaters) off the needles.
I also agree with you on nice. Something has to be spectacular before I even cast on the needles. Life is too short just to knit something 'nice' when you can knit something spectacular!
